Who this covers

This policy covers apps published by EyreSquared. The app it covers is Nestling, a private log of sleep, meals, drinks, play, mood, and growth for parents and caregivers. The iPhone and Android application id is com.eyresquared.nestling.

This policy describes Nestling 1.0.0. It does not describe the EyreSquared 3D printing website, except for the short note below about visiting this page.

Who we are

EyreSquared is Keith Eyre, in Swords, County Dublin, Ireland. For a privacy question about Nestling, email eyresquared@gmail.com.

The short version

Entries stay on your device. Nestling 1.0.0 does not send the log to EyreSquared or to anyone else. There is no account, no advertising, and no analytics. We do not sell information. We cannot see your log.

What you can save

You choose what to write. Nestling can store it only on the device:

• A child’s name, birth month and year, an optional day of birth, and gender (girl, boy, or prefer not to say).
• Optional details for that child: your name for the greeting, feeding style, usual bedtime and wake time, allergies, and notes.
• Sleep, including naps and bedtime, wake time, and optional quality, interruptions, place, and a note.
• Meals and drinks, including the meal, the time, and optional food, amount, and a note.
• Play, mood, and optional growth such as height, weight, head circumference, teeth, and milestones.
• More than one child, if you add another.
• Your appearance choice: system, light, or dark.

The log can include a child’s routines, food, allergies, mood, and growth. That information can be sensitive. It remains on the device where you entered it.

Where it is stored

Nestling keeps the log in a local database on the device. Charts and insights are calculated there. EyreSquared does not receive the log, does not store it on a server, and does not use it to train a model.

If you use a browser build of Nestling, the log stays in that browser on that device. We still do not receive it.

What Nestling does not do

• It does not ask you to create an account or sign in.
• It does not include analytics or advertising.
• It does not track you across other companies’ apps or websites.
• It does not ask for the camera, photo library, microphone, contacts, or location.
• The published Android app does not request internet access, and the app does not include a network client.
• It does not send the log to EyreSquared, an advertiser, or an analytics company.

Insights

Insights compare days that are already in the log, on the device. Nestling is a personal log. It is not a medical device and it does not give medical advice.

Pattern search

Version 1.0.0 does not include pattern search. Nothing in the log is sent off the device in this version. The app may describe pattern search as something that could come later.

If a later version can send a log, it will do that only after you choose the action, the app will explain that before you confirm, and this policy will be updated before that version is released.

Children

Nestling is made for parents and caregivers. It is not made for a child to use on their own, and it does not ask a child to create an account. A parent or caregiver enters information about a child, and that information stays on their device. EyreSquared does not collect it.

How long it stays

The log stays on the device until you delete it. In Settings, “Delete my data” removes every child and every sleep, meal, play, mood, and growth entry on that device, then returns Nestling to the start. The appearance choice can remain. You can also remove one child, which removes the entries saved for that child. Deleting the app removes the local database with it.

We have no copy of the log, so we cannot delete it for you and we cannot restore it.

Backup and security

Android backup is turned off for Nestling, so Android backup does not copy the log. Keep the device locked. Anyone who can unlock the device, or who can open an unlocked device, can open the log.

App stores

If you download Nestling from Apple or Google, that store handles your store account under its own privacy policy. That is separate from the log in Nestling. EyreSquared does not receive the contents of your Nestling log from the store.

If you email us

If you email eyresquared@gmail.com, we use your email address and your message to reply and to keep a record of the request. Please do not send a child’s log, photos, or health details. We do not need them.

This page

This policy is a page on eyresquared.io. The site is hosted by Netlify. Opening this page loads its styling from a content network and its typeface from Google Fonts. Those requests are about viewing this website. They are not connected to a Nestling log, and the Nestling app does not load them.

Changes

If this policy changes, the new version will be posted on this page with a new date. The date at the top is the version that applies.
